complements

so i had an interesting night at work. something that prompted me to post on my blog. i have been seriously considering quiting my job. i am getting tired of cleaning bathrooms but mostly i'm getting sick of my co worker. she always has to argue with what i say and likes to put me down every once and a while. lately i have just taken to putting in my ipod and ignoring her. well the cool thing that happened tonight was that when i was leaving my manager stoped me and asked me how i get my floors so clean. i wasn't sure what he ment and he clarified by telling me that my floors were 10 times cleaner than the other crews. i was shocked. 6 months of working hard and that was the first sincere complement i have recieved. i explained how i clean and my manager told me he is going to have me train the other crew on how to clean the floors like i do. it made my night! it is good to be complemented for something i have worked hard to do. however at the same time i realize that i am still on the bottom of the food chain when it comes to campus jobs. i am a custodian and scrubbing toilets and floors seams to be my forte. i just wish i could do as well in my classes as i do at my job. stupid chemistry.

  1. Isn't it crazy how one complement can make your whole day? There was a news story on confidence and complements this week on TV. They said that they type of confidence you feel when you get a sincere complement,is just the ingredient needed to be a successful person; whether it be in work school or social life.

I'm so glad that your hard work was recognized, and that you've learned to deal with that annoying coworker. It was mean the way she treated you, and one day I hope she recognizes that.

Keep plugging (or unplugging) away this semester and it will be over soon :)
